Starting from the quaint village of Sankri in Uttarkashi, this 6-day trek takes you through serene lakes like Juda-ka-Talab, peaceful meadows, and dense forest trails draped in fresh snow during winter.

At 12,500 ft, the Kedarkantha summit rewards trekkers with panoramic views of major Himalayan peaks such as Swargarohini, Black Peak, Bandarpoonch, and Kalanag. Day 01 :

Dehradun → Sankri (Arrival at Base Village)

Altitude: 1,950 m / 6,400 ft
Drive Distance: 198–220 km
Drive Duration: 8–10 hours

Your journey begins from Dehradun, driving through the scenic landscapes of Mussoorie, Nainbagh, Purola, and Mori. The route is filled with dense pine forests, river valleys, and panoramic Himalayan views.
By evening, arrive at Sankri, the base village for the Kedarkantha trek, located inside the Govind National Park.

Settle into your guesthouse, attend a briefing session, and prepare for the trek ahead.

Overnight stay in Sankri.

Day 02 :

Trek from Sankri → Juda-ka-Talab

Altitude: 2,800 m / 9,100 ft
Trek Distance: 4–5 km
Trek Duration: 4–5 hours approx.

Start your trek with a steady ascent through maple and oak forests. As you move deeper into the mountains, the surroundings become quieter and incredibly scenic.
By afternoon, reach Juda-ka-Talab, a beautiful high-altitude lake set amidst dense forests and open meadows.

Enjoy the peaceful environment and spectacular views.

Overnight stay in tents at Juda-ka-Talab.

Day 03 :

Juda-ka-Talab → Kedarkantha Base Camp

Altitude: 3,100 m / 10,100 ft
Trek Distance: 3–4 km
Trek Duration: 2.5–3 hours approx.

Today’s trail climbs steadily toward the Kedarkantha Base Camp, offering stunning views of snow-covered peaks, alpine meadows, and wide-open valleys.
Reach the base camp by afternoon and relax while enjoying breathtaking sunset views over the Himalayas.

Overnight stay at Kedarkantha Base Camp.

Day 04 :

Kedarkantha Base → Kedarkantha Peak → Descend to Hargaon Camp

Altitude:

Kedarkantha Peak: 3,800 m / 12,500 ft
Hargaon Camp: 2,700 m / 8,900 ft

Trek Distance: 6–9 km
Trek Duration: 7–8 hours approx.

Begin your summit push early in the morning (around 3:00–4:00 AM). The final ascent is steep but extremely rewarding.
Reach the Kedarkantha Summit and witness a spectacular 360° view of Himalayan giants including Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Black Peak, and Ranglana.

After spending time at the summit, descend back to the base camp and continue the trek down to Hargaon Camp, a beautiful campsite surrounded by forests.

Day 05 :

Hargaon Camp → Sankri → Drive to Dehradun

Altitude: 1,950 m / 6,400 ft
Trek Distance: 4 km (Hargaon → Sankri)
Trek Duration: 3–4 hours

Descend through pine forests and charming mountain villages back to Sankri.
Depending on your plan, you can rest for a while and then begin your drive toward Dehradun.

Optional same-day return:

Overnight stay in Sankri or travel back to Dehradun (as per plan).

Day 06 :

Departure Day – Sankri → Dehradun

Drive Distance: 198–220 km

If you stayed overnight at Sankri, begin your return drive toward Dehradun after breakfast. Reach Dehradun by evening, marking the end of your Kedarkantha adventure.
