Begin the day with early morning birdwatching at Okhla Barrage, a major wetland on the Yamuna River that attracts a wide variety of resident and migratory birds. After birding, continue by road towards Jim Corbett National Park. The final stretch of the drive passes through forested foothills, offering excellent opportunities to spot birds and occasional wildlife along the way. Approx. 55 km | 2 hours

After breakfast, drive towards Corbett Falls, stopping en route at Dabka Causeway for birdwatching in scrub and riverine habitat. Continue onward into the hills to reach Pangot, a small Himalayan village surrounded by oak, pine, and rhododendron forests. After lunch, enjoy relaxed birding around the Jungle Lore Birding Lodge and nearby trails. This region is well known for woodpeckers, parakeets, cuckoos, jays, orioles, tits, nuthatches, and treecreepers. Overnight in Pangot.

A full day is dedicated to birdwatching in the forests around Cheena Peak, Kilbury Road, and Timla Pani, some of the most productive Himalayan birding routes. These areas support a rich mix of mid- and high-altitude species, including woodpeckers, raptors, flycatchers, yuhinas, minlas, and laughingthrushes. Today’s birding focuses on Pangot village, Baggar, and Gughu Khan, combining terraced fields, forest edges, and deep woodland. These walks are often very rewarding, offering sightings of hawk-eagles, warblers, flycatchers, thrushes, bush robins, redstarts, accentors, pipits, and various laughingthrush species. Enjoy a final morning birding session in the Himalayan forests, looking for species such as woodpeckers, barbets, laughingthrushes, and high-altitude passerines. Later, descend to Lal Kuan railway station to board an overnight air-conditioned sleeper train to Mathura, marking the transition from mountains to riverine plains. Overnight onboard the train.

Arrive early morning in Mathura and transfer by road to the National Chambal Sanctuary. Enjoy a guided boat safari on the Chambal River, one of India’s most pristine river ecosystems. Highlights include Indian skimmers, terns, cranes, migratory waterfowl, crocodiles, gharials, turtles, and the rare Gangetic dolphin. Afternoon birding continues along the riverbanks. In the morning, visit the iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, one of the world’s most famous monuments. Afterward, drive to Bharatpur and arrive by noon. The afternoon is spent birdwatching in the wetlands of Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Overnight in Bharatpur.

Spend the entire day birdwatching inside Keoladeo Ghana National Park, exploring the wetlands, grasslands, and woodland paths on foot or by cycle rickshaw with an experienced birding guide.
