The McLeodganj – Minikiani Trek is a moderately strenuous high-altitude trek through the breathtaking Dhauladhar range of Himachal Pradesh. The trek ascends to a maximum altitude of 4,250 m, passing by three stunning high-altitude lakes along the way. Day 01 :

Arrival at McLeodganj – Trek to Triund Base (2,800 m)

Arrive at McLeodganj, a scenic town in the Kangra valley, and meet your trekking team. After orientation, begin the trek towards Triund Base, crossing lush pine and deodar forests. Enjoy panoramic views of the Kangra valley and surrounding Dhauladhar peaks. Settle at a camp near Triund for your first overnight stay under the stars.

Day 02 :

Triund Base – Snowline Camp (3,200 m)

The trail today ascends gently through alpine meadows, dotted with wildflowers. Cross small streams and rocky paths while enjoying close-up views of the Dhauladhar snow-capped peaks. Camp near the snowline, preparing for the higher altitudes ahead. This stage allows trekkers to acclimatize gradually.

Day 03 :

Snowline Camp – Minikiani Pass – Lake View Camp (4,050 m)

Today’s trek is challenging yet rewarding as you approach Minikiani Pass, the trek’s most scenic point. Traverse rugged terrain, rocky slopes, and small snow patches. Enjoy awe-inspiring views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. Descend slightly to set camp near a serene high-altitude lake, where trekkers can relax and enjoy the mountain serenity.

Day 04 :

Lake View Camp – Second Lake – Minikiani Valley (4,100 m)

Wake up to crisp mountain air and panoramic views. Today, trek to the second lake en route to the Minikiani Valley. The trail passes through alpine meadows and rocky ridges with multiple scenic viewpoints. Spend some time exploring the area, capturing photographs, and enjoying the tranquil environment before heading to the Minikiani Valley campsite.

Day 05 :

Minikiani Valley – Third Lake – Descent to Snowline Camp (3,200 m)

Begin the day trekking to the third high-altitude lake, surrounded by snow-capped peaks and lush meadows. After soaking in the serene surroundings, start the descent back to Snowline Camp, retracing part of the trail while enjoying a different perspective of the Dhauladhar range. Evening at camp allows time to relax and share trekking stories by the campfire.

Day 06 :

Snowline Camp – Triund – McLeodganj Departure (2,000 m)

On the final day, descend from Snowline Camp back to Triund, and further down to McLeodganj. Enjoy the lush forests and valley views along the way. Upon arrival, celebrate the completion of the trek with your team. Trekkers can explore local markets or relax before onward travel to Delhi, Chandigarh, or other destinations.
