Hemis Festival Tour

he Hemis festival is dedicated to Lord Padmasambhava (Gur Rimpoche) venerated as the representative reincarnate of Buddha. He is believed to have been born on the 10th day of the fifth month of the Monkey year as predicted by the "Shakia Muni Buddha". It is also believed that his life mission was, and remains, to improve the spiritual condition of all living beings. And so on this day, which comes once in a cycle of 12 years, Hemis observes a major extravaganza in his memory. The observance of these sacred rituals is believed to give spiritual strength and good health.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Arrive-Delhi

  • Upon arrival in Delhi International airport Kai representative will welcome, assist and provide transfer to respective hotel for immediate occupancyAssistance on arrival at Airport and transfer to Hotel.

  • Day 02: Delhi

  • Half day sight seeing of old Delhi . Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 03:Delhi - Leh

  • Early morning transfer to domestic Airport to board LEH flight. Assistance on arrival and transfer to Hotel. Full day at leisure to acclimatize high altitude of Ladakh. O/N at hotel.

  • Day 04: Leh - Hemis

  • Morning visit Stok Palace and on way back visit Tibetan Handicraft Centre and TCV School. After lunch depart for Hemis monastery. O/night at Camp.

  • Day 05: Hemis

  • Attend the Hemis Festival to witness the day long celebration of the festival. /N at Camp/hotel.

  • Day 06: Hemis - Leh

  • Morning attend the Festival and afternoon return back to LEH. On way back visit Shey and Thiktse monastery. O/N at hotel.

  • Day 07 : Leh-Lamayuru-Alchi

  • Early morning depart for Lamayuru and check in hotel. After lunch visit to monastery and the Village. This monastery is oldest in Ladakh Region. O/N at hotel.

  • Day 08 : Alchi-Leh

  • Morning drive to Alchi and visit monastery which is famous for its Paintings of 11th. century. After lunch depart for LEH and O/N at hotel.

  • Day 09 : Leh-Chumathang -Tsomoriri

  • Early morning depart for Chumathang and stop at UPSHI Passport Check. Chumathang is famous for medical hot spring. Continue journey to Tsomo Riri and enroute visit Mahe and Gaik Village. Arrive Tsomoriri and check in at Camp.

  • Day 10 : Tsomo Riri

  • Morning visit Korzok Village and Monastery which appears like mirage. Afternoon visit Lake Tsomoriri and this Lake is breeding ground for numerous species of birds such as bar headed goose, Grebe, brahmin duck etc. Lake 8 km. Wide and 28 km long. O/N at Camp.

  • Day 11 : Korzok-Puga-Tsokar-Leh

  • Depart for LEH enroute visit Mahe village and then drive through Puga Valley and Tsoka via Polokongka Pass 13500 ft. Visit Tsokar lake and Thugke monastery. Continue drive towards LEH via Tanglang La Pass 5350 Mtrs. Which is second highest motorabel Pas in the world. Check in hotel on arrival and O/N at hotel.

  • Day 12 : Leh

  • Morning al leisure and after lunch half day River Rafting on Senge Tsangpo i.e Indus River. Evening Ladakhi Culture Show which will follow traditional Dinner. O/N at hotel.

  • Day 13 : Leh-Delhi

  • Transfer to Airport to board Delhi flight. Arrival assistance and transfer to hotel. Afternoon for shopping or free and O/N at hotel.

  • Day 14 : Delhi

  • Morning half day new Delhi sight seeing and evening transfer to International Airport for return flight.
