Indus Valley Trek
Walk into the pre-historic era from where it is believed civilization began in India. The Indus Valley Trek divulges the ancient territories secluded within a scenic landscape, where one side towers the snow clad peaks and the other side is dotted with cattle farms. Further ahead it enters a rocky and barren land. The trek showcases most of the ancient monasteries and remote villages. It passes through a natural and vast gallery of rock arts reflecting the lifestyle and beliefs of the ancestors inhabiting here. The major spiritual attractions on this trekking tour in Ladakh are the monasteries like Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Spituk, Phyang, Lamayuru, Alchi, Temisgang, Ridzong, and Likir, which also reflect the folk culture. The entire trekking trail runs through undulating land along the River Indus and Old Caravan route. It crosses through some of the major mountain passes and the entire stretch ranges between the altitude of 3000 meters and 3750 meters. After some acclimatization at Leh, the Indus Valley Trek heads to Likir followed by Yangthang after crossing Phobe La and Charatse La, wherefrom one can capture the stunning views of the entire valley. Furthe, trek ascends to Temisgang passing through Ridzong Monastery in Hemis Shukpachan. The trail then winds down to Lamayuru and Alchi and hereby to Leh. Thus, the Indus Valley Trek in Ladakh is one of the major attractions that even attract the Buddhist pilgrims from South-Asian countries as well as from Korea, Japan and China.
